In her mid-20s, after getting married and moving to El Paso with her family, Mollie Soto began working for a medical collection company. Although she remained there for more than three decades, the company provided no benefits or retirement pay. So at 56 years old, Soto decided it was time to begin thinking about her future.

In December 1986, the wife and mother of five started Medical Management Service Inc., a business that provides collection and billing assistance to medical companies and health-care professionals.
