| Newest Quicken Medical Expense Manager Ends Health Care Cost Confusion -- Creates Smart Shoppers |
 |
|
Quicken Medical Expense Manager software
organizes
your medical history and insurance information in one
place. It helps you make sense of confusing and
sometimes overwhelming paperwork. It helps you
track medical expenses, find tax deductions and
manage disputes. It allows you to keep detailed
records of past medical expenditures so that you
can
make informed decisions in the future. And it's
especially useful if you have a chronic medical
condition or manage medical costs for other family
members.
The Medical Billing Advocates of America
estimates
that up to 90 percent of medical bills from hospitals
and providers contain errors amounting to more than
$10 billion annually in overpayments. Quicken
Medical
Expense Manager makes it easy to identify
overpayments and billing errors, and helps manage
the dispute process more effectively.

| Role of Third-Party Billing Firms Expanding In Healthcare Arena |
 |
Medical billing professionals typically provide
services
to specialty physician groups and primary care
practices and process Medicare, Medicaid and private
health insurance claims.
In addition to seeing that health care providers get
paid for their services, the billing professionals
frequently offer a full range of physician's
administrative functions.
The third-party billing industry dates back to the
1950s; however, large billing companies did not
emerge until the 1980s when it was required that
hospital-based physicians' services be billed
separately.
Today, health care billing companies come in
all
sizes, ranging from one person to publicly traded
companies with revenues of $300 million to $400
million annually.
Third-party medical billing companies employ
nearly
20,000 people nationwide and process more
than 17
million claims per month, representing more than $18
billion per year, according to statistics provided
by
the Healthcare Billing & Management Association
(HBMA), a trade association representing third-party
medical billers.
Physicians who contract out or outsource their billing
departments can expect their billing agents to
perform initial data entry of patient demographic
and
charge data, prepare insurance claims, follow up
unpaid claims, post payments and adjustments,
detect and challenge inadequate or incorrect
payments and bill patients for deductibles and co-
insurance.

Coretta Johnson
J&J Medical Billing Associates
Seattle, Washington
Hi! I'm Coretta Johnson from Seattle, Washington.
When I was asked by Medical Billing Course.com
to
put together a brief biography of myself, I was happy
to do it. Medical Billing Course.com has been
very
instrumental in my confidence and future success!
My business, J&J Medical Billing Associates
consists
of myself and my mother-in-law, Jenetta Johnson.
Jenetta resides in my home-town of East St. Louis,
MO, but we see this as much more of an advantage
than a "distance problem." We have already
begun
marketing our services to providers in both areas
(Seattle and East St. Louis) and we expect to have
a contract (or two) in hand within the next 30
days!
Jenetta has somewhat of a medical background,
having worked as a medical secretary for 15 years
for a local doctor. I'm a pre-school teacher getting
ready to have children myself, and decided
that I
want to stay at home to be with my children.
Jenetta and I both recommend Medical Billing
Course.com to anyone who is pursuing a career or
has plans to start their own business in medical
billing. The course is well thought out, flows
easily,
is humorous at times, and gives you confidence
in "learning by doing."
Check back with us. We would like your readers
to
be the first to know of our success!
